Son of (L) Ph. Anganghal Singh; born on June 7, 1943; graduated in Arts; married; four daughters and 2 sons; political and social worker.

Entered politics while student; participated in many movements for development of rural areas and downtrodden people; joined CPI in 1964; National Council, Communist party of India; elected to first, second and third legislative Assembly, Manipur on CPI from 8-Lamlai Assembly Constitution returned to 5th MLA in February, 1990.

Special interest:- Co-operative movement, welfare of the people and Rural Development.

SHRI LAIRELLAKPAM LALA SINGH

Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency-

Born at Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai in 1938; son of Shri L. Lallo Singh; married Smt. Leimapokpam Manglembi Devi; served as assistant teacher in the Khewa L.P.School;a social worker since boyhood and devoted to the service of upliftment of the backward areas; elected as a Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly in 12984 General Election from the Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency as an Independent Candidate.

SHRI YUMKHAM ERABOT SINGH (Wangkhei Assembly Constituency.)

Born on Nov 5, 1939; son of Y. Angangyaima Singh and married; Graduated and obtained Master's Degree in Philosophy from the Gauhati University in 1967; started research work in the same University but discontinued due to heavy involvement in social and political life; took free hand exercise training; joined in the art of sword fighting in the school of M. Heramot Meitei; participated in different School and college  Meets, State Athletic Meets of Manipur and Assam; player in Volley Ball and represented the Eastern Sporting Union; led a team of prisoners of Imphal and joined the All India Prisoners’ Welfare day at Gaya Central Jail (1960) and had won prizes in Short Put and Bamboo dance; joined the Statehood Movement in 1960 sponsored by  the Sanyukta Socialist Party with C.P.I and P.S.S; imprisoned  at the Imphal Jail for nine months and eleven days at Gaya Central Jail; participated in the Manipur Statehood Demand Movement launched by the S.S.P (1968); General Secretary of the M.P.P(1972); founded and edited a weekly Journal “Panthung"; President, Manipur un-armed Martial Art Association, All Manipur Power Lifting; elected to Third and Fourth Manipur Legislative Assembly from Wangkhei Constituency, became Minister of State (F.C.S) (1-6-80 to 27-2-81); subsequently inducted as cabinet Minister of F.C.S (19-6-81 to 27-2-83); Minister Education (8-3-88 to 17-2-90); returned to Sixth Manipur Legislative Assembly from 15-Wangkhei Assembly Constituency on INC ticket and inducted Minister in charge of P.H.E.D.

THOUDAN DEVENDRA SINGH, I.N.C

Born on November 1,1941; son of (Late) Th.Surendra Singh; graduated and obtained LLB Degree from Gauhati University; married; two sons.

Served as an Assistant teacher in the Jiribam Higher Secondary School (1964 –72); started legal practice in 1972; member Manipur Bar Association (1972-80);elected  to Third, Fourth and Fifth Legislative Assembly, Manipur; became Minister of State (18-6-80  to 27-2-81) Minister for Education (19-6-81 to 4-1-85); Minister for Public Health Engineering, Law and Legislative Assembly(20-12-88 to 2-3-90)Minister Law and Legislative Affairs and Arts & Culture, Education (16-6-92 to 31-12-93); Minister Works & Housing Law & Election (12-1-95 to 25-2-95); returned to the Sixth Manipur Legislative Assembly from 40-Jiribam Assembly Constituency on I.N.C ticket and inducted Minister in charge of Works.

SHRI RAJKUMAR DORENDRO SINGH M.A.,LLB.

Yaiskul Assembly Constituency.

   Born on September 30,1934; son of R.K.Tombisana Singh; married and has two daughters and three sons; Graduated from Gauhati University; obtained Master’s Degree in Philosophy and L.L.B. from Calcutta University in 1959; started practicing law in the year 1960 and registered as an advocate of the Gauhati High Court in the year 1963.

  General Secretary of Students' Union of the D.M.College (1954-55); Secretary of the Young Socialist League,(1953-54); Executive Member of the All Assam Socialist Party; Director of the Youth Socialists, Assam (1955-56); President of the Calcutta Manipur Students' Union (1957-58); Editor of the Journal ‘Khonjel’ and Joint Editor of the “Anouba Samaj”(1955-56). Imprisoned three times and lodged at Imphal Central Jail in the years 1954, 1955 and 1964 for active participation in the Satyagarha movement demanding restoration of the Assembly and Statehood for Manipur on the first two occasion and the last for offering Satyagarha against the Government‘s man-made famine in the State. General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Manipur (1965-66);left the socialist Party and became founder member of the Nationalist Democratic Socialist Party in 1966; active organiser and functionary of various Sports and Social organisation; Secretary of the Imphal Lions Club; twice elected Vice-president of the All Manipur Sports Association (AMSA) and General Secretary of the Indo Burma Road Sports Association (IBSA)
 

NINGTHOUJAM BIHARI SINGH

Born on August 11, 1947; son of Shri N. Udhop Singh; graduated from Gauhati University; married Leitanthem Ningol Premilata Devi in 1967.

Associated with various social organisation while student life; founder member of the Eastern Youth Development Association, Top Khongnangkhong; Universal Library-Cum-Information Centre, Kongpal; Amature Atheletic Association, Kongpal; Eastern Youth Reforms & Development Association; Bal-Vikas Kendra Top Khongnangkhong; Standard English School, Porompat; elected to the Sixth Manipur Legislative Assembly from 3-Khurai Assembly Constituency and Independent Candidate and became Minister of State for P.H.E.D.

SALAM CHANDRA SINGH

Born on July 15, 1945; son of (L) S. Una Singh; passed Intermediate under the Gauhati University; married Smt. Rani Devi in 1977;  two sons and three daughters.

  Served as veterinary FA (1972-1978); Extension officer (1979-1984), resign from service on August 1, 1984 and entered active politics and devoted to service of upliftment of backward people; was General Secretary, All Andro Government Employee Association (1984-88); elected to the 6th Manipur Legislative Assembly on MPP ticket from 6-Andro Assembly Constituency.
